Superb Old Marka Janus-Faced Mask Mali African 15.5"H by 15.5" w 5"d .with red tassels on the crest .it shows minor losses pls check pictures for more details.overall very good condition.The Marka, living in Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso are neighbors of the Bamana. Today they are heavily Islamized, however they often retain the use of masks and figures for ceremonies and rituals closely related to the Bamana. This mask probably related to the N'Tomo initiation mask for young boys found among the Bamana.
