This is a large fabulous Hand sculpted  and Hand Painted Wood Stool from the Nupe Tribe of Nigeria. These stools are made out of a single piece of wood with intricate patterns and colors. The Nupe people live along the banks of the Niger river. Their art is non-figurative and mostly decorative and are presented to brides by their grooms. Traditionally these beautiful stools are used as prestige objects on market days during important meetings. This unique and colorful Nupe stool would be a wonderful addition to your home or collection.
