This vintage Kuba Kasai Velvet Boutallah raffia textile pillow from Zaire, Africa features an intricate geometric pattern hand-woven from raffia palm fibers. Dyed by women and woven by men, this striking pillow  measures approximately 22.5" by 23" by 7". The Kuba (Bakuba) people are renowned for their meticulous fabric-making process—each piece undergoes soaking, beating, hand-scraping, and careful working to achieve its distinctive silk-like texture and refined quality. This superb pillow showcases delicate embroidered geometric design with a brown cotton back and zipper closure. Never used, the fabric and poly fill are clean and new.
