Beautifully hand carved 19th century South American Santos figure of Saint Anthony, depicted holding a book and silver stick with a silver crown and glass eyes. Some antique polychrome is missing due to age and use. Known as a marriage saint in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil, there are legends of Saint Anthony reconciling couples and assisting them in finding a partner. Measures 11"H x 3.5"D x 4"W.
