This hand-modeled vessel reflects the distinct pottery traditions of the region's multi-ethnic communities, including the Asurini do Xingu and Wauja peoples. Crafted using time-honored techniques, local riverbed clay is combined with organic materials such as cauxi (freshwater sponge ash) or tree bark ash to prevent cracking during firing.
