#7067 Vintage Korhogo Textile by the Senufo People Cote d'Ivoire 61" by 37"

This Vintage Korhogo Textile has been hand crafted from cotton fabric by the Senufo people of Cote d'Ivoire. It is similar to mud cloth and is decorated with recognizable symbols of daily life. It is named for the village of Korhogo in the North of the Ivory Coast. The creation of the cloth is divided across gender lines; men tend the cotton plants, while women clean and spin the cotton, and men weave the yarns into 4" wide strips. Several of these strips are sewn together to create a canvas which is 61" high and 37" wide.
