This is a stunning, antique  Chinese wedding (dowry) basket featuring intricate hand-painted details. Standing at over 20 inches tall, Motif: Beautifully hand-painted with a traditional scene of Beijing Opera figures. Finish: Rich, warm reddish-brown lacquer over bamboo wood with a classic patina. Construction: Three stackable compartments (3-piece set) held together by a  bentwood handle with decorative metal accents. Dimensions: Height: 20 inches (to top of handle) Diameter: 13 " The compartments do not sit perfectly flush—typical of aged wood—but stack securely. Minor lacquer wear  wood opening and surface scuffs are expected with 19th-century folk art and add to its authentic patina.
