# 5615 Peruvian Chancay Burial Dolls 4" h S/2

Dolls of this sort were historically buried alongside individuals to provide them with lasting protection. This set of two from the Chancay tribe measure 1.5" w by 0.75" D by 4"H and 8"H  and boasts hand-embroidered faces. The fabric used for these dolls is centuries old, originating from Columbian times, and the quality of the fabric and natural dyeing process is remarkable. Adhering to ancient traditions, Peruvian dolls are crafted from ancient textile fragments that were used by Peruvians living on the arid central coast millenniums ago.
