# 5613 Peruvian Hand Made Chancay Doll 7" H

This 7" by 4" by 0.5" doll, hand-embroidered with ancient fabric from Columbian times utilizing natural dye processes, is believed to have been used by the Chancay tribe to protect them in eternity. Historically, dolls like these were made with traditional methods on the arid central coast of Peru a thousand years ago. This particular piece was bought at auction many years ago and its prior provenance is unknown.
