The Mamaindê, who are part of the northern Nambikwara, live in the state of Mato Grosso and Rondônia together with other peoples. This territory comprises the Chapada dos Parecis, the Guaporé Valley and a region further north. They usually establish their villages in elevated areas with sandy soil and typical Cerrado vegetation.
