This is a  fabulous Hand Carved  Wood Stool from the Nupe Tribe of Nigeria. These stools are carved out of a single piece of wood with intricate patterns  The Nupe people live along the banks of the Niger river. Their art is non-figurative and mostly decorative and are presented to brides by their grooms. Traditionally these beautiful stools are used as prestige objects on market days during important meetings. This unique  Nupe stool would be a wonderful addition to your home or collection.
