#1149 Lobi Bronze Amulet /Gold Weight Couple Pendant 5" H

A   vintage Lobi bronze pendant / Burkina Faso, made through the lost-wax casting process.

This amulet depicts a standing couple with animal-headed figures, embodying the spiritual traditions of the Lobi people. The creation method—molding beeswax, encasing it in layered clay, heating to release the wax, and pouring molten bronze into the resulting cavity—produces an entirely unique artifact. The bronze displays an authentic patina characteristic of age and use.
