Superb and unique hand-carved wooden box from the Dogon tribe of Mali, featuring a double-door design traditionally used for storing medicine or tobacco leaves. This striking piece stands on three legs with a functional latch closure.

Adorned with high-relief carved details including stylized breasts and frogs on the doors—sacred symbols in Dogon mythology. A protective head with 4four faces  sculpture crowns the top, while the back showcases intricate crocodile figures and representations of ancestor spirits, the Nommo. Each carving reflects the skilled craftsmanship of village artisans.
