#1122 Vintage Large Kuba Royal Beaded Basket Congo 22" H

This vintage Kuba basket from the Democratic Republic of the Congo is made by hand using raffia palm fibers and decorated with glass beads and  cowries shells. It features raised patterns created through the traditional "kasai velvet" weaving technique. Beyond its decorative appeal, the basket holds cultural importance in Kuba ceremonies, symbolizing wealth and heritage.
