Tribal Grebo mask from Liberia. Grebo masks are known for their influence on early western modern art and were found in the collection of Picasso. Unlike the other populations living in Liberia, the Grebo mask people are not structured by the Poro society. They are ruled by a chief known as Bodio who lives in near-total isolation. The characteristic feature of Grebo masks is an elongated nose set between the eyes. 20.5" H by 9.5" w by 8.5" D
